THE DETAILS BEHIND THE PURCHASE

From a paper trail
to a useful record.

Read a receipt, compare the suggestions and keep the details you have reviewed.

How to scan a receipt

  1. Open your receipt. Choose an image or single-page PDF with clear printed English text.
  2. Prepare recognition. Allow engine preparation when prompted. Downloads may need a network connection.
  3. Check the details. Compare the whole receipt with the suggested total, date and recognized text. Correct them before use.
  4. Keep your reviewed copy. Copy the text or JSON, or download JSON. Clear the workspace when finished.

What does Receipt Scanner extract?

It recognizes printed English text and suggests one total and one date. These are editable suggestions, not verified financial records. It does not itemize purchases, categorize expenses or convert currencies.

Which files can I use?

Choose an image or a single-page PDF receipt smaller than 50 MB. Image dimensions and browser memory limits also apply. Multipage PDFs are rejected; use a separate file for each receipt.

What if the total or date is wrong?

Compare the suggested fields with the receipt and edit them. Multiple plausible totals or dates may leave a field blank. Date strings are not guaranteed to be valid or unambiguous; confirm their meaning yourself.

Can I export my corrections?

Copy the reviewed text or JSON fields, or download the reviewed total, date and text as JSON. Edits are included in the result. Download or copy before clearing the workspace; there is no automatic receipt archive.

Where does recognition happen?

Recognition runs in browser memory. OCR engine and language files and PDF libraries may download from external services. The scan prompt allows engine preparation; caching may reduce later downloads. Review every result before use.
